Apr 29: 12-year old South African boy Nayati Moodliar of Mont Kiara International School was abducted from the corner of Jalan Kiara 1 and Jalan Kiara at 7.30 am on April 27, by two men in a black Proton Gen 2.
Nayati, of Indian and Dutch parentage, is 1.5 metres in height, with dark brown hair and eyes. He was last seen wearing green shorts with white t-shirt with his school's emblem.
His distraught family has set up a Facebook page for the public to assist in any information that could help bring Nayati home.
In a posting today, Nayati's family pleaded against speculation and rumours on the internet, worried that these would hinder the efforts to trace him.
"As of 5 pm, Nayati's whereabouts is still unknown. Efforts to get ore information are still underway. The speculation and rumors on the internet can actually hinder Nayati's retun, so we urge everyone to please not post anything which are speculation based.
"The Moodliars family is extremely grateful for all the support. We shall let you know if there is anything more that what friends/family can be do," they said.
Earlier, Nayati's father Shamelin Moodliar said in a video broadcast on YouTube: “He is our only son. He is a good boy and we need him back. We don't want any trouble... It's not too late to let him go... We're not rich people, please give our son back.”
The South African government has meanwhile condemned the kidnapping.
“(The government) calls on the government of Malaysia to continue with its efforts to secure the release of Nayati Moodliar and to bring the perpetrators to book,” said Clayson Monyela, from South Africa's department of international relations and co-operation.
